This project proposal document will give an insight into the Information Systems group project that has been created as a part of the “CSC610 – Information Systems Development” course requirement. The project which is titled as “A look at Information Systems in Tourism Industry” will explain how our company i.e., Cruise Away, a cruise Tourism agency will be making use of Information systems to develop and create a website to better serve the needs of their growing customer base. This document will also explain what the project will be and how it will be organized into the final project turn-in paper.
In order to be successful, it has become a necessity for organizations everywhere to work in parallel with the growing technological advancements. CruiseAway, a customer centric travel agency specializing in cruise services has been helping its customer’s plan their cruise vacations worry free for years. In order to better serve its customers, it is now working towards improving the quality and marketing of its services by incorporating Information systems. It is CruiseAway’s belief that the incorporation of an effective marketing Information Systems will not only help them reach out to its growing customer base but it will also help their customers take full advantage of its vast services from the convenience of their homes. Therefore, this paper will focus on how Information systems can be used to develop an effective e-business.
In the present world, automation involving robust computer programs has enabled more productivity for the clients as well as customers reducing costs and thereby increasing efficiency with minimal error. In order to allow customers to do self-checkout on their tour plan, a cruise tourism control information system is to be developed involving economic plans, amenities being offered and customer reviews.
