Abstract
The benefit of having a cell phone and the positive outcome it has on people’s lives will be discussed throughout this paper. I will talk about the convenience of the cell phone. I will also talk about the safety and security that a cell phone gives the person using it. Being able to connect on social media sites helps you keep in touch with friends and family that you don’t see on a regular basis and cell phones make connecting to social media easier than ever. Although I believe cell phones make life easier I will be discussing the opposing argument that others have about cell phones throughout this paper.

Included in this essay are the things I like most about having a cell phone. I have researched the convenience, safety, and socialization of society. In this paper I will talk about the supporting information I have found on how cell phones have made people’s lives better. The convenience of having a cell phone is allowing people to be able to contact others at all times. Most families today, have replaced their landlines with cell phones. Most cell phone carriers and plans offer free long distance service. Cell phone reception has become reliable and high quality due to advances in wireless technology (Kingston, K. 2004).There is a lot of things you can do with a cell phone. Such as text message, email, download and play music, surf the web, or use navigation to get you somewhere. The last convenience is that most cell phones these days have a built in camera on it, making it easy to capture memories at the snap of a button. For at least three years, camera phones have outsold “normal” digital cameras, and the gap is widening ( Fallows, J. 2006).
