nce he knows what it is like to lose a father. The donor acted selflessly when he underwent a painful surgery to save a fellow firefighter whom he had never met. The donor may not be known as a hero to the World, but he was a hero to the life he saved and to his family. There are many people who may never be recognized, like this firefighter, who impact peoples lives daily with their acts of selflessness. One person who is well known for selfless acts is Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Mother Teresa embodied the meaning of what it means to be selfless by dedicating her life to helping others. Her acts included: building schools for the most poverty-stricken areas, building for the sick and dying, and created the Missionaries of Charities. Mother Teresa received countless prestigious awards including the Noble Peace Prize. However, these awards do not make her actions more heroic or selfless than those of the firefighter. Both the firefighter and Mother Teresa are selfless human beings who want what’s best for the greater good...
