Tucked away in the East Village building on the second floor, the Cha-An Tea House is among the finest Japanese-style teahouses in town. As one of the cozy restaurants in town, Cha- An Tea House is a haven for tea lovers and elegant provider of Japanese snacks. The tranquil teahouse also offers a succession of dexterously crafted plates to its customers.

What I Would Do as Manager
In reference to the service audit of the restaurant, it is quite evident that some areas are poor or generally need improvements. In as much as most areas around the restaurant are in excellent state, areas such as the parking lot of the restaurant, the spacing system inside the restaurant and certain services need improvement. As a manager, I would initiate the development of the restaurant's own parking area to help in supplementing the congested public parking that the restaurant uses. On the other hand, I would also commission the expansion of the restaurant at least accommodate more client and to avoid congestion inside the restaurant. The tables are very small which cause imperfect tabletop picture. We did not have a complete set of silver ware, nor other decorations on the table, such as vase and table tent. After expansion of the restaurant, I believe the situation will become much better. Also, the restaurant is a cash-only establishment and this might diminish the customers’ experience because the customers have to worry about whether they have enough cash or not. As a manger, I would also plan to take credit card when the customers spend certain amount of money. Overall, Cha-an Teahouse has an excellent level of quality. I believe for Cha-an Teahouse, employee training is very critical.
Based on my experience, the hostess at Cha-An knows menu really well and respects customers. She did not only look us in the eye, smile at us, but also noticed our need by refilling tea before cups were empty. Also, she served the correct order to each customer...
